Bulletin for July 31

  • English fellowships are scheduled to set up lunch and clean up today & next week. Please note and come early to help.
  • For second half year of 2016, the budgeted average weekly offering target will be around $21,000. Please continue to pray and remember the needs of the church.
  • Elder Board Resolution in July is as follows:
    • It is resolved that the sum of $1000 to be offered to Manjohn Wong Work Special in Venezuela from the Other organizations, under the Mission Fund
  • Thank God for His providence and the support of brothers & sisters, we had received $1,800 for supporting some needy students of Dali to participate in the English summer camp, $2,550 for supporting 4 teacher assistants to come to Dali from Chengdu to help out, $2,055 for Food Fair and $1,371.10 for Fun Fair. Please continue to pray for the Dali short-term mission team.
  • Rev. Joe Chan will take vacation leave from Aug 9-18 (Tue-Thur).
  • There are no Awana Clubs in the summer until Sept 11. There is still a summer children program from 9:30-11:00am for age 3 to Grade 6.
  • Thursday night badminton activity will be cancelled in August.
  • Rev. Daniel Tang is taking vacation leave until Aug 12 (Fri). He will be back to church on Aug 14 (Sun).
  • Ambassador for Christ in Canada will held a “Frosh Connexion” event with BBQ for all the first year students in university on Aug 16 (Tue) at 5:00pm to 9:30pm at North York Chinese Baptist Church. Please visit www.afccanada.org for detailed information.
  • Please remember our mission ministry and missionaries in our prayers:
    • Angel Wong from Carmel fellowship is serving with Simon & Eva Fok, MSI and mission team in Zhaojue China until mid-August. Pray for her health and effective ministry.
    • The Dali short-term mission team will be going to Dali, Yunnan from Aug 1 to 13 (Mon – Sat) to host an English Camp for children & youth. Please pray for their preparation and spiritual readiness, and may the team members follow God’s guidance.  May He protect them, lead them, and provide opportunities for them to witness for Him.
    • Praise the Lord that Rev. Manjohn Wong in Venezuela, bought a used car recently. Pray for safety when driving. They have also obtained a bank card, so that they don’t have to bring large amount of cash to buy things. A mission team from Toronto will go to hold a children camp. Pray for Rev. & Mrs. Wong to have a restful 3 weeks vacation before the camp.
