2017 Awana Award Presentation will be held today after Chinese Sunday Service.
Fund Raising with food sale for China STM. Today & next Sunday, July 16, We’ll sell food at lunch time on these Sundays. Booth tables will be set up in gym (PS: we’ll still have normal lunch provided during the event). If you want to help out for preparing and serving food, please contact Betty Kong from Zion fellowship.
General Membership Meeting will take place next Sunday, July 16 right after Chinese Sunday service. All members please reserve your time to attend. A list of eligible voting members has been posted on the bulletin board outside Sanctuary. If you are not available to attend, please obtain a proxy form on reception table. Agenda as follows: a) To elect Wilfred Li & Ada Lui as congregation representatives of 2018 Elder Nomination Committee. Together with Rev. Daniel Tang, they will form the Nominating Committee with representatives from Elder Board: Andrew Chan & Cecilia Ho.
Due to Children Summer Day Camp, Tuesday basketball activity on July 18 & 25 will be cancelled. Also, Thursday night badminton activity will be cancelled in July & August.
Children Summer Day Camp: Family Party will be held on July 21, Friday at 6pm to 8 pm in the gym. Welcome all families attend. Also please clean up your own food in the refrigerators this week as we need extra space for the Children Summer Day Camp food team.
CCAC will be having our third annual garage sale on August 19th, from 10AM to 2PM. In addition to the garage sale, we will also be having fun activities such as an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, games, food, and refreshment for all attendees. It would be greatly appreciated if brothers and sisters can donate items from home by August 7th, and also reserve the time to volunteer and attend the event. There will be no Awana Clubs from next Sunday, July 16 to Sept 10. There will be a summer children program from 9:30-11:00am for age 3 to Grade 6.
Starting last week, on duty schedule wouldn’t be shown on bulletin. Those responsible for serving that week will now receive an automated e-mail on Monday to remind them of their service that week. A link to the schedule will be posted in the upcoming automated e-mails. Please check the contact list to verify that your e-mail is correct. If your contact is correct and you still have not received an e-mail reminder, please contact Pastor Darren.
We have already reached the target of CAD 1,500.00 for supporting 25 needy students of Dali to participate in the English summer camp. We have received $1,650.
There is a need to support 6 teacher assistants to come to Dali from Chengdu to help out the work of translation, sharing the gospel, and other duties in the English summer camp. If brothers and sisters have a burden to support, please put your offering in the church’s offering envelop and specify for “Dali STM – Teacher Assistant Support”. The need is about CAD 2,000.00. Until last week, we have received $1,500. The deadline for the support will be next Sunday, July 16.
Local Short Term Mission: Our church will join with Toronto Chinese Alliance Church in downtown Toronto to provide dinner to low income or homeless people. The first time will be on July 22 (Sat), and tentatively every two months thereafter. Those who are interested, please contact Thomas Chang or Adi Lau.
