Bulletin for July 30

  • Welcome our guest speaker Pastor An Le, of Toronto Grace Alliance Church.
  • Today and next week, English fellowships are scheduled to set up lunch and clean up. Please note and come to help.
  • Today, Joe Chan is invited by Toronto Grace Alliance Church to preach for English Service. He will be back to the church for Sunday School.
  • Next week, our guest speaker is Rev. C.Y Yan, Ontario Regional Director at OMF Canada.
  • There will be a new course where all adults will join.  It will be 4 sessions on “The New Rules for Love, Sex and Dating” in rooms 10-11 till the end of August, breaking for JMC during the Civic Holidays long weekend.
  • Application for Dec’s baptism is OPEN. Please hand in application forms to either Pastor Darren Tsang, Cecilia Ho, or Philip Cheung by Sept 10 (Sun).
  • 412 Fellowship will be running every Friday rather than every other week from now on. For any question, please contact Pastor Darren Tsang.
  • Our four Pastors will be going to Joint Mission Conference from this Friday to next Monday.
  • Elder Board Resolution in July:

It is resolved a subsidy of $11,300.00 to support the China short-term mission team to Dali, Yunnan be approved.

It is resolved the official church logo and letterhead be approved.

  • For nominations of 2018 elders by church members:

Qualification for the Elder Nominee: 

  1. Meet the biblical requirement (Acts 1:21-26, 6:3-6, 1 Timothy 1:1-7, Titus 1:5-9)
  2. Must remain as active & voting member for at least two years immediately prior to the election
  3. Must have served as a Deacon(ess) for two terms (4 years)
  4. Willing to obey and execute resolution of the Board of Elders or General Meeting.

Qualification of church member making the nomination:

  1. Must be a voting or active member

Ways of Nomination:

  1. In writing to the Nominating Committee, the Committee will screen the nomination
  2. Written nominations must have two or more active members to sign for the proposal and seconded

     Nominations must be submitted by the Sept 24 (Sun) to Nominating  Committee. It won’t be accepted after the date.

  • Administrative Assistant Karen Fung will take a day off this Thursday, Aug 3.
  • CCAC will be having our third annual garage sale on August 19th, from 10AM to 2PM. In addition to the garage sale, we will also be having fun activities such as an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, games, food, and refreshment for all attendees. It would be greatly appreciated if brothers and sisters can donate items from home by August 7th, and also reserve the time to volunteer and attend the event.   • There is no Awana Clubs until Sept 10. There is a summer children program from 9:30-11:00am for age 3 to Grade 6.
  • Toronto Chinese Christian Parenting Association will hold a parenting conference Empowering our University / College students to thrive spiritually and emotionally “ on Aug 15 at 7:30pm to 9:30pm at North York Chinese Baptist Church.
