Bulletin for Sept 10

  • Pastor Darren Tsang is invited by Crosspoint Church to preach for their Service today.
  • Joe Chan is invited by Melville Chinese Baptist Church to preach for their Service next week. He will be back for Sunday School.
  • Church Picnic will be held this Sat Sept 16, at 12pm to 4pm at Milliken Park. Today is the last day to sign up, please submit your form with the fee to Tom Choi by today. 
  • Congregational fellowship lunch will take place on Sep 24, Sun in the gym after English Sunday School and Chinese Sunday Service.
  • Local Short Term Mission: Our church partnered with Toronto Alliance Church in downtown Toronto to provide dinner to the poor, homeless and underprivileged in July. The response and support of both the Chinese & English was very positive. We have schedule the next time to Feb 17, 2018 (Sat) and detailed information will be provided later.
  • Today is the last day to apply for Dec’s baptism. Please hand in application forms to either Pastor Darren Tsang, Cecilia Ho, or Philip Cheung.
  • After running our Wednesday evening English Prayer Meeting for more than 2 years, the English leaders have evaluated and decided that it was time to change our approach and format to corporate prayer. Beginning in Oct., we will transition our English prayer meeting to the first Sunday of every month at 1-1:30 p.m. in the observation room. Church prayer items will be distributed to the small group leaders where they would encourage their group members to pray for the church on a weekly basis. The Wed. evening prayer meeting will continue to the end of Sept. during this transition period. If you have any questions/concerns about the changes of the English Prayer Meeting, please speak with Philip, Cecilia, P. Darren or Rev. Joe Chan.
  • 2017-2018 Awana Clubs will start next week. If you haven’t registered yet, please pick up the registration form at the reception desk and return with $50 fee per child to Children Department.
  • Our church caretaker is on vacation until Sept 17. In order to keep the church building clean and neat. Please restore the tables and chairs you used. Keep the floors clean. All the garbage and used disposal utensils must be thrown into the big garbage bin with lid. Fellowships who take care of clean up, please collect all garbage and throw into the garbage bin outside. Thank you for your attention.
  • Next term of 2017 Sunday School was started last week. There are three courses:   a) The Gospel of Mark (suitable for Junior High School students, rooms 2-3)   b) Revelations to the Seven Churches (suitable for High School students, room 1)   c) Sermon Discussions (suitable for Adult, rooms 10-11)            Encourage everyone to study the God’s Word together.
  • The deadline for nominations of 2018 elders by church members is Sept 24 (Sun).
  • Passion to Reach Ministries will hold a Gospel outreach conference “GO Conference” on Oct 13-14 (Fri – Sat) in two places, Scarborough & Brampton. It is designed to equip you to build bridges with the people that God has placed in your life! For those interested and register, please contact Pastor Joe.   • The Mission Hub, a shared workspace for individuals and organizations involved in missions and ministry in the Toronto area, will hold a one day conference “Live Called” on Oct 14 (Sat) in Knox Presbyterian Church in downtown. It is an opportunity for young adults to explore a variety of ways in which they can respond to God’s calling and engage in Kingdom work.
