Bulletin for October 29, 2017

  • Today and next week, English fellowships are scheduled to set up lunch and clean up. Please note and come to help.
  • Monthly English prayer meeting will be held next Sunday in observation room at 1-1:30 p.m. We encourage you to come and pray with us.
  • Nov is Mission Month Sunday School; therefore, starting next week, all Sunday School classes will be combined in one class until Nov 26. We welcome OMF to hold “Six Ways” Sunday School for us in rooms 1-3.
  • General Meeting will take place next Sunday right after Chinese Sunday service. All members please reserve your time to attend. A list of eligible voting members has been posted on the bulletin board outside Sanctuary. If you are not available to attend, please obtain a proxy form on reception table. Agenda as follows: a) To approve CHAN CHOONG & KUNG Chartered Accountants as our external auditor for year 2017.
  • Elder Board Resolution in Oct: i) It is resolved to hire Quality Allied Elevator to complete the work on the elevator so that it complies with Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) Directives at a cost of $3,150.00 plus HST. ii) It is resolved to offer a contract to Quality Allied Elevator to provide maintenance to the church’s elevator at an annual cost of $1,060.00 plus HST. iii) It is resolved that CCAC will set aside 3 Sundays, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, and Nov. 12, to receive Jaffray Offering for C&MA.
  • The purpose of the Jaffray Offering 2017 is to raise funds for the Global Advance Fund (GAF) to send and support workers ministering to these 5 least reached people groups in Bali, Mexico City, Northern Iraq, and Senegal (Balinese Hindus; Urban Professionals in Mexico City; Yazidis in Northern Iraq; Wolof People; Fulani People). The fund will be collected from today to Nov 12. Please write “Jaffray Offering” in Others category on the offering envelope.
  • Daylight Saving Time – Please turn your clock 1 hour back before you go to bed this Saturday evening (Nov 4).
  • Themelios Retreatwill be from December 29 – January 1 this year at Countryside Camp. Forms are available at youth.ccac.church. Cost is $120 for registration and $115 for freewill donation plus optional $15 for a t-shirt. Please note donations must be written as a separate cheque. Deadline to register is December 3. 
  • We thank the Lord; Badminton Tournament had been successfully completed last Sunday, and it ended in a tie; both the English Congregation and the Chinese Congregation are the champions.
  • 2017 Mission Conference “Come, Follow Me” will take place on Nov 17 (Fri) at 7:45pm & 19 (Sun) at 9:30am. The speaker is Rev. Albert Lu, Missionary of the C&MA in Taiwan. B/S are encouraged to attend the conference and pray for the speaker, the messages and the conference preparation. Children Mission Conference also will be held in the same time and date. Mrs. Elaine Lu will be the speaker on Fri & Sun. On Sat, children will be packing up the Samaritan’s Purse “Christmas Shoe Boxes”. Detailed information about this will be released later.
  • Pastor Darren Tsang is currently on vacation leave until Nov 14. He will be back to the church on Nov 15 (Wed).
