Next Sunday, we will have a commissioning prayer for Rev. Anne Louie. She is going to serve Mandarin speaking Chinese professionals in Mexico City starting in mid of July.
2018 Awana Award Presentation will be held next Sunday, July 8 after Chinese Sunday Service.
Does God exist? How can anyone believe in religion when science has neither a need nor a place for God? Is evolution happening today? If God is a God of love, why do we suffer and die? Creation Ministries Internationalis coming next Sunday, July 8 at 11:15am with answers to these important questions. Come and hear Thomas Bailey expose the bankruptcy of the evolutionary myth.
General Membership Meeting will take place on July 15 right after Chinese Sunday service. All members please reserve your time to attend. Agenda as follows: a) To elect Tom Choi & Alan Kwok as congregation representatives of 2019 Elder Nomination Committee. Together with Rev. Daniel Tang, they will form the Nominating Committee with representatives from Elder Board: Andrew Chan & Grace Tang.
The offering target of Anne Louie’s Mexico mission trip is $6,000. We have received $10,242 until last week. Thank God that we meet the goal.
There will be no Awana Clubs from July 15 to Sept 9. There will be a summer children program from 9:30-11:00am for age 3 to Grade 6.
Fundraising for Mexico STM. When it comes to missions, another way that the church can participate is through the act of sending. From August 19 – 26, we will be sending a team of youths to Tijuana, Mexico to build homes for the needy in partnership with Mexico Caravan Ministries. In addition to the Offering Wall outside the gym, we are also fundraising through a food sale in the gym on July 8, 15, 29, and August 12! Food tickets are sold until August 12 by the Mexico STM team. If you have any questions or would like to purchase a ticket, please ask Hannah, Pastor Darren, or Cecilia.
The expenses of church Summer Camp is around $33,110, we now have received $23,110. Please pray for the need and make offering.
Mission Fund: In the past six months, our church has only allocated $6,000 to the C&MA, ECD and CCACA, which is less than 17% of the total budget. Please make offering and pray for the mission fund.
Do you want to invite your friends and family to our church but don’t know how? Know anyone who would be interested in participating in a community garage sale? This year we are opening up to invite others to come and participate as a vendor at our garage sale. Everyone who is a church member will have this great opportunity to be a sponsor. Please contact Jackie Tsang or Pastor Joe for more information. Registration deadline is July 15.
A thanksgiving banquet will be held in the evening on October 7th (Sunday) and registration will begin after service at the reception desk.
