At last Sunday General Meeting: We have elected Tom Choi & Alan Kwok as congregation representatives of 2019 Elder Nomination Committee. Together with Rev. Daniel Tang, they will form the Nominating Committee with representatives from Elder Board: Andrew Chan & Grace Tang. Please pray for wisdom, as they try to nominate elders for 2019.
For nominations of 2019 elders by church members: I)Qualification for the Elder Nominee: Meet the biblical requirement (Acts 1:21-26, 6:3-6, 1 Timothy 1:1-7, Titus 1:5-9) Must remain as active & voting member for at least two years immediately prior to the election Must have served as a Deacon(ess) for two terms (4 years) Willing to obey and execute resolution of the Board of Elders or General Meeting. II) Qualification of church member making the nomination: Must be a voting or active member III) Ways of Nomination: In writing to the Nominating Committee, the Committee will screen the nomination Written nominations must have two or more active members to sign for the proposal and seconded Nominations must be submitted by the Sept 23 (Sun) to Nominating Committee. It won’t be accepted after the date.
Our church is now in need of re-establishing the Pastoral Searching Committee to start the process of searching a Senior Pastor. There are three member representatives in the Committee. Starting from today to Aug 19 (Sun) is the period of Nomination of three member representatives.
Due to a lack of recruitment of sponsors, the church has decided to cancel this year’s garage sale event. While it is sad that we cannot run this event, our leadership will come together to pray, brainstorm, and plan alternatives for the future. If anyone has some ideas or suggestions for future outreach, please feel free to speak to any of the pastors/elders/deacons. Regarding the cancellation of this year’s garage sale event, any questions/concerns can be directed to Rev. Joe Chan.”
Fundraising for Mexico STM. Food sale will be resumed next Sunday, July 29 and August 12! Food tickets are sold until August 12 by the Mexico STM team. If you have any questions or would like to purchase a ticket, please ask Hannah, Pastor Darren, or Cecilia.
Due to Children Summer Day Camp, Tuesday basketball activity on July 24 will be cancelled.
Application for Dec’s baptism is OPEN. Please hand in application forms to either Pastor Darren Tsang, Cecilia Ho, or Philip Cheung by Aug 26 (Sun).
The expenses of church Summer Camp is around $33,110, we now have received $23,110. Please pray for the need and consider making an offering.
