We welcome our guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Benjamin Li, English Pastor of North Toronto Chinese Baptist Church, Melville Mission, and thank him for preaching this morning. May the Lord richly bless his ministry.
Next week, English fellowships are scheduled to set up lunch and clean up. Please note and come to help.
Joint baptismal service including children will take place next Sunday Dec 2 at 10:30am, there will be no Sunday School, Snack Ministry and Awana Clubs on that day. Parents, please lead your children to have a seat in the children section. Children will only join the worship, baptism and testimonials sharing, and will return to the Orange program afterward. Baptismal candidates are: Luther Yuen, Amanda Li, Johnny Liu, Emily Liu & Steve Lau.
Elders and deacons quarterly meeting will be moved to Dec 15, Saturday in Rooms 1-3 at 9:30am. All 2018 & 2019 Elders & Deacons please attend.
2019 Church Calendar “Songs of Life” is available for pick up at the reception table. Due to limited quantities, we are distributing one calendar per family.
Themelios Retreat will be from December 21 – 24 this year at Countryside Camp. Please keep it in your prayer.
Elder Board Resolution in Nov: i)It is resolved to offer $6,500.00 to C&MA and $1,000 to CCACA from the Mission Fund. ii) It is resolved that the budget for the 2019 Taiwan short-term mission be approved.
Our church will form a new pastoral searching committee to start Senior Pastor searching process. Now, after the Chinese Service on Dec 9, the General Meeting will be held to approve the three member representatives. They are: Noah Chang, Jim Tsang and Andrew Chan. And the representatives of the Elder Board are Carmen Ho and Grace Tang. The effective of the searching committee will be on January 1, 2019. All members please stay to attend.
2019 Small Groups Registration: signup opens now toDec 18 deadline at https://www.ccac.church/eng/2019-small-groups-registration/. There will be 3 groups available: Community Small Groups (Wed), Discovery Small Group, Satellite Group (Friday). If you have any questions, please contact Rev Joe or Lewis Leung.
Our target set for Pastor Lewis & Felain Lam mission fund this year is $10,000. We have around $2,000 shortage right now. A target for Anne Louie mission fund has been reached. As for the missions fund, it still owes about $15,000. Please continue to support our missionaries financially and in your prayer. You can designate your offering to different missions fund on the offering envelope.
Our church will go to Toronto Alliance Church in downtown on Dec 15, Sat to provide dinner to needed people. Those who are interested to join and make a pot of soup, please contact Derek Ng or Adi Lau. Also, we would like to collect canned foods or instant noodles that are not expired yet. You can put the items in the collection box before Dec 9.
Our church forecast expenses is $684,361. Until last Sunday, we have received around $503,000; therefore, from Nov to Dec we need $23,000 offering each week. Please continue to pray for our needs and brothers and sisters’ steadfast offering.
Pastor Anthony Yuen is currently on vacation leave until Dec 2.
