Bulletin for June 7, 2020
- As ordered by the Government of Ontario, all non-essential businesses (which includes church) are mandated to close. Therefore, our church is closed now. But we will still hold worship online! We’ll be running livestreams during this period of mandatory closure. Please visit ccac.church for more information.
- The English Ministry is holding a large Sunday School class for both youth and adults online on ZOOM at 11:15 a.m. More details and information are posted on the church website and Facebook.
- The English Ministry prayer meeting is online weekly on Thursdays at 8 p.m on ZOOM. Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join. Let us come together and pray for the world, our church, families, and individuals during these unprecedented times.
- Today is Communion Sunday. We ask that church members prepare bread/cracker and grape juice to remember the Lord’s death.
- Please note if you have made a one-time online donation through Canada Helps, you will receive donation receipt after the transaction has been completed. For monthly donations, you’ll receive donation receipts after year end. If you donate using church envelopes, the church will issue receipts after year end.
- All planned Short-Term Mission Teams will be canceled this year.
- Our church is going to recruit summer students granted by Canada Summer Jobs. The recruitment content, application procedures and detailed information is posted on jobs.ccac.church. The deadline of submitting application is June 20th.
- Elder Board Resolution in May: It is resolved that our church will be hiring 3 summer student positions in 2020.
- 2021 Elders Nomination Committee for 2 representatives from members. Nomination period: June 7 – June 28 (Sun).
Ø Qualification for Nomination Committee Members:
1) Must remain as voting member for at least two years immediately prior to the election.
2) Must have continuously served in a church position for at least two years.
Ø For nominating a Nomination Committee Member:
1) The nominator must be a member for at least two (2) years and be a voting member in the previous General Meeting.
2) The nomination must be seconded by another voting member, and submit in writing to the Acting Senior Pastor, who is the Chairman of the Nomination Committee.
Note: this is different from qualification of Elder nominees.
- After discussion with our partner organization, the children’s summer day camp in July will be cancelled.
- Due to the cancellation of Sunday Services at church and closure of the church office, you can use the following methods to make Tithes and Offerings:
- Online Donation – Please visit give.ccac.church for detailed information on how to give online.
- Mailing Cheque – Please write down how the funds are to be allocated with personal information on a personal note. Then, mail both the cheque and note to the church (4757 14th Ave, Markham, ON L3S 3K3).
- Drop Off – If dropping off a cheque to the church in person, please contact the church office first before coming. Our staff will need to arrange with you.
