Bulletin for January 30, 2022
- We welcome our guest speaker Rev. Dr. Benjamin Li.
- Next Sunday is Communion Sunday. We ask that church members prepare bread/cracker and grape juice to remember the Lord’s death.
- English Online Prayer Meeting is every Thursday at 8 p.m. on ZOOM. Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join.
- In order to serve our community, our church will let GoVaxx Bus use the church parking lot to vaccinate people in the community on Feb 7 (Monday). All vaccinations need to be booked online starting on Sunday, Feb 6th at 8 am. Please go to the following website or call 1- 833-943-3900 to make an appointment. Please select or inform the operator of our postal code (L3S3K3) when making an appointment; the bus can provide the first or second dose of the mRNA vaccine for people over 12 years old, and the third dose of mRNA vaccine for those eligible. - In person children worship (4 years of age or older) will be held at the church starting next Sunday (Feb 6). For attendees, please register at children.ccac.church. The online registration form will be available on every Thursday at 9am and closed on every Sunday at 8am. The number of people is limited. Please register in time.
- Due to the strict measures implemented by the provincial government, our church will also implement the following temporary restrictions and will review it after the 31st of this month: 1) Everyone must wear mask all time in church building. 2) No communion and no food in church building and to any church ministries (except staff to have food in their own office).
- Rev. Darren Tsang will be on parental leave for six months starting from Feb 10, 2022.
- Elder Board Resolution for January: i) It is resolved to appoint the following members as Deacon / Deaconess effective January 1, 2022 for a term of 2 years (except otherwise specified): Rachel Lee, Tom Choi, Kenneth Shum, Wilson Young, Mark Leung, Miriam Ng, Ada Lui, Betty Kong, Alan Kwok, Rita Chang, Ivan Kong (1 year), Emma Tjoe-A-Long, Chris Luck, Shelia Wong (8 months), Jeremy Ho
- 2023 Elders Nomination Committee for 2 representatives from members. Nomination period: Jan 9 – Feb 27 (Sun). i) Qualification for Nomination Committee Members: 1) Must remain as voting member for at least two years immediately prior to the election. 2) Must have continuously served in a church position for at least two years. ii) For nominating a Nomination Committee Member: 1) The nominator must be a member for at least two (2) years and be a voting member in the previous General Meeting. 2) The nomination must be seconded by another voting member, and submit in writing with 2 signatures of qualified church members, or in email with 2 email addresses of qualified church members to our Senior Pastor Rev. Brian Wong (brian.wong@ccac.church), who is the Chairman of the Nomination Committee. Note: this is different from qualification of Elder nominees.
