Bulletin for October 9. 2022

  • English Online Prayer Meeting will be on every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ZOOM1 (pw: 4757). Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join.
  • Today is Thanksgiving Sunday. We welcome our guest speaker Aimee & Alyssa Esparaz and staff and volunteers from Compassion Canada. There will be some booths in the foyer and the gym to introduce their organization and the children sponsorship program after service and during lunch. Please stay behind.
  • Baptismal class will be held in room 10-11 this week only. The normal class room is in room 3 thereafter. If you have any question, pls contact Philip or Adi.
  • Reopening guideline update: Staring this week.  1) Guideline return to church when it is positive – we will follow the Gov’t guideline i.e. minimum 24 hours self-isolation if you have symptoms of COVID-19.  2) The wearing of masks in the church will be optional; Except for children and children ministry leaders & helpers.   3) We will remove the online registration starting in Nov but will continue to require to register online for lunch.
  • Online General Meeting will take place on Oct 16th at 1:30 pm on ZOOM; therefore. There will be no lunch provided on that day. Two emails have been sent to all eligible voting members with access links and verification code for voting. Members are required to do one of the following and submit the ballot by Oct 15th at 10pm:  a) Complete the voting form and personally attend the meeting on ZOOM; or b) Complete the voting form and assign a proxy to attend the ZOOM meeting on their behalf. (proxy must assign to active member). Please note that it is the requirements per our by-laws that only the votes of those who attend (either personally or by proxy) will be counted. Members who only complete the form without attending or assigning a proxy will not have their ballots counted. Should you have any questions, please contact Rev. Joe and Rev. Darren. Should you not receive an email but you believe that you are an eligible voting member, please email office@ccac.church as soon as possible.  Agenda as follows:
    1. Election of nominees as Elders for 2023-2024: James Chan, Thomas Chang, Philip Cheung, Betty Kong & Grace Tang.
    2. To approve 2023 financial budget.
    3. To approve CHAN CHOONG & CHANG CPA Professional Corporation as our external auditor for year 2022.
  • There will be an English Ministry Town Hall Meeting on Oct. 16 during the English Sunday School time frame, which is before the Online General Meeting. The English Town Hall will conclude promptly to allow members to have lunch and attend the Online General Meeting that begins at 1:30 p.m. on ZOOM. This will be a time for our English Leaders to share what God had impressed upon their hearts as to God’s vision for the English Congregation in 2023 and beyond. Please reserve your time to attend and learn about how God will be leading our church and ministry.
  • Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child” is a hands-on way for us to bless struggling children in the developing world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and other items. Same as last year, anyone can pick up one or more of the Christmas shoe boxes in the church now, to prepare their own with $10/box for shipping. If you cannot pack your own, please donate $40/box. All donation please use our offering envelope and write OCCon the line “Others___. The deadline of collecting shoe boxes is Nov 20 (Sunday morning). For detailed information, please visit shoebox.
  • English ministry badminton outreach will be on every Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30PM. Feel free to invite your friends. If you have any questions, please contact Oswin Chang or Chris Luck.
