Bulletin for October 22, 2023

  • English Online Prayer Meeting will be on every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ZOOM1 (pw: 4757). Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join.
  • Today we will pray for our Taiwan Vision Trip during pastoral prayer. Vision trip members are: Rev. Joe Chan, Betty Kong, Philip Cheung & Tiffany Lam. Their trip will be from Oct 31 to Nov 9.
  • We welcome our guest speaker Rev. John Mah from Mississauga Chinese Alliance Church to preach for us this morning. Rev. John Mah is the English Ministry Pastor at Mississauga Chinese Alliance Church (MCAC).  His former career has been in Architecture which focused on planning, design, and building.  Having the call for ministry to build the local church, he received further education (M.Div.) at McMaster Divinity College.  He has been a pastor at MCAC for over 15 years which included youth ministry work for a decade.  Having grown up as a “Pastor’s Kid” within an ethnic church in his early life, he has experienced spiritual growth and also faced tension as a leader between the polarizing cultures.  Yet, God continues to grip his heart, to form his holy discontent – thus creating an immense passion in the faith journeys for the 2nd and 3rd generation, learning with them what it means to live in obedience to the radical commands of Jesus.  He is a father to 2 boys aged: 14, and 12, and his wife works at the local Hospital.  In his free time, he is a gym rat and hangs out at the gym – mostly in the sauna, and loves to eat chicken wings only on Tuesday nights.
  • Next week, our guest speaker is Rev. Jeff Chan from Mississauga Carmel Mandarin Alliance Church.
