• English Online Prayer Meeting will be on every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ZOOM1 (pw: 4757). Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join.
• We welcome our guest speaker Rev. Jeff Chan from Mississauga Carmel Mandarin Alliance Church to preach for us this morning.
• Daylight Saving Time – Please turn your clock 1 hour back before you go to bed this Saturday evening (Nov 4^th).
• As the crisis in Israel and Gaza unfolds, The Alliance Canada has been monitoring this complex situation while searching for ways to aid those in need. Our church will accept donations for the Global Emergency Response Fund before November 19^th. Please write “Middle East Conflict” in the “Other” column on the donation envelope or online donation.
• We will be hosting a Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 am – 10:30 am. Come and join for a time of encouragement and prayer with fellow brothers in Christ. Go to this link for details and to register.
• There will be a short-term mission (STM) trip to Chiayi, Taiwan from June 26-July 10 (approximate and tentative date). This is the location of the International Worker of the C&MA, Rev. Albert Lu, whom our church signed a Seamless Link Agreement in May earlier this year. The information package and form can be found on this link and there will be a link posted on our church website (ccac.church). Registration officially begins on Nov. 1st and will close by Dec. 1st so that the Mission Committee has sufficient time to review applications and interview potential team members. Only those considered as good and qualified candidates will be called in for an interview. Please also note that the Kairos or Perspectives mission course is a basic requirement for consideration. Either the person has completed one of those two mission courses previously or has promised to do so before departure. There are no exceptions. This STM is a joint venture between Cornerstone Chinese Alliance Church and the Chinese Evangelical Alliance Church of Toronto. There are limited spots, people are encouraged to apply early. For any questions about the Taiwan STM, please speak to Rev. Joe Chan or Betty Kong.
• Rev. Joe Chan, Betty Kong, Philip Cheung and Tiffany Lam will leave to Taiwan for their Vision Trip from Oct 31 to Nov 9. Please pray for their safety and health.
• Online General Meeting will take place on Nov 5^that 1:30 pm on ZOOM; therefore, there will be no lunch provided on that day. Two emails have been sent to all eligible voting members with access links and verification code for voting. Members are required to do one of the following and submit the ballot by Nov 4^th at 10pm: 1) Complete the voting form and personally attend the meeting on ZOOM; or 2) Complete the voting form and assign a proxy to attend the ZOOM meeting on their behalf. (proxy must assign to active member)Please note that it is the requirements per our by-laws that only the votes of those who attend (either personally or by proxy) will be counted. Members who only complete the form without attending or assigning a proxy will not have their ballots counted. Should you have any questions, please contact Rev. Joe and Rev. Darren. • To celebrate the church 35^th Anniversary, our church will take family photos for members and brothers and sisters after the two Sunday services on the 12^th and 19th of Nov as commemoration. Please pay attention to the announcement.
• Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child” is a hands-on way for us to bless struggling children in the developing world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and other items. Same as last year, anyone can pick up one or more of the Christmas shoe boxes in the church now, to prepare their own with $10/box for shipping. If you cannot pack your own, please donate $40/box. All donation please use our offering envelope and write OCC on the line “Others___. The deadline of collecting shoe boxes is Nov 19, Sunday. For detailed information, please visit the link.
• The church gymnasium is undergoing renovations now, and all sports activities are canceled until further notice.
• To protect the environment, you can bring your own tableware and dishes for lunch to reduce waste. You are welcome to make a free-will lunch donation, $8 per adult, $4 per child under the age of 12, (lunch donation is not included in the tax receipts).
• Beginning with the General Meeting in March 2024, Member voting eligibility will be determined according to the requirements of the current church by-law’s “voting members”. Please be sure to sign in when you attend Sunday Service in order to fulfill the eligibility to vote in the future.
• Offering through E-transfer is now available. From your bank’s website, you can donate via Interac e-Transfer within the transfer / payment menu option. No security question or password is required. Use the email account. In the “Message” section, please include your name, address, phone number, amount, and the offering accounts you would like to support. You can give to multiple funds in one transaction. (All undesignated donations will be allocated to the General Fund)
