Bulletin for December 10, 2023

  • English Online Prayer Meeting will be on every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ZOOM1 (pw: 4757). Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join.
  • English Congregation baptismal service will take place on next Sunday, Dec 17 at 9:30am. Welcome to rejoice with those who are baptized.
  • Christmas Eve Worship will be held on Dec 24th, on Sunday at 9:30am. We welcome everyone come to celebrate Christ’s birth.
  • There will be no Awana Clubs on Dec 24 & 31 due to Christmas break, but we will have another children program instead at the same time. Awana Clubs will be resumed on Jan 7 next year.
  • The baby dedication prayer will be held during the Sunday service on February 18 next year. Babies aged 5 or under and parents who are members of the church can register at the following website. The deadline for registration is January 14 (Sunday) next year.
  • The next intensive course starts in January 2024 (Exact Date TBA), will be taught by Rev. Joe Chan on “World Religions, Cults, and Occult”. One must register here to attend the course. Minimum enrollment must be at least 3 people, maximum enrollment is 10 people. Please prayerfully consider your commitment, as reading and homework are involved as part of the commitment to attend this course.
  • Elder Board Resolution in Nov: i) It is resolved the following baptismal candidates for December 17, 2023 baptism be approved: (English): Jason Cheng, (Chinese): Billy Law and Yau-Cheng Chan.  ii) It is resolved the following Membership Transfer applications be approved: Melody Wong and Michelle Lo
  • From Finance Department: The 2023 forecasted expense is expected to be $803,615. As the deficit of general fund to Nov 30 was ($27,619) and we have received $42,000 in Dec, we would need to receive approximately $83,000 in the next 4 weeks in order to breakeven (approx. $21,000 per week). Please continue to pray for our church financial situation. Also, be reminded that there are many ways to give to our church including our online e-giving platform. To give today, please go to ccac.church. The last day to accept 2023 offering is Dec 31, on Sunday. If you send it by mail, please reserve more mailing time to avoid delay in receipt.
  • Our church food drive will be until next Sunday, Dec 17. Please bring non-expired and non-perishable foods and drop them in the designated box in the foyer. All the food will be donated to the Toronto Alliance Church whose mission is to reach out to the impoverished with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May the Lord bless your generosity and kindness!
  • Themelios Retreat will be held from December 22-24 at Countryside Camp again. For more information, contact P. Darren.
  • Our church will be hosting the Mission Course “Kairos” every Saturday from Feb 17th to Apr 6th, 2024 from 2-5pm. The early bird discount registration fee is $99 until January 15th, and thereafter $125. To register, please go to the following website.
  • If anyone has any expenses for 2023 that they would like to claim, please submit the claim form by Jan 14, 2024 (Sunday).
  • Our church is currently hiring contract Cantonese assistant Pastor and English assistant Pastor. Please check the church website for details.
  • To protect the environment, you can bring your own tableware and dishes for lunch to reduce waste. You are welcome to make a free-will lunch donation, $8 per adult, $4 per child under the age of 12, (lunch donation is not included in the tax receipts).
  • Beginning with the General Meeting in March 2024, Member voting eligibility will be determined according to the requirements of the current church by-law’s “voting members”. Please be sure to sign in when you attend Sunday Service in order to fulfill the eligibility to vote in the future.
  • Offering through E-transfer is now available. From your bank’s website, you can donate via Interac e-Transfer within the transfer / payment menu option. No security question or password is required. Use the email account. In the “Message” section, please include your name, address, phone number, amount, and the offering accounts you would like to support. You can give to multiple funds in one transaction. (All undesignated donations will be allocated to the General Fund)
