Bulletin for February 18, 2024
- English Online Prayer Meeting will be on every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ZOOM1 (pw: 4757). Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join.
- Today during lunch, at 1-2 p.m., there will have be a disciple-making seminar downstairs in rooms 1-3. Anyone is welcome to attend if they are interested in learning more about the art of making effective disciples for Jesus Christ. Registration is not needed. The format will be relatively casual and informal.
- 2023 offering receipts (for income tax purpose) are ready for pick up today. Please sign for the receipt at the reception table after Sunday Service. Remaining unclaimed receipts will be mailed out this week. If you have made donations online, please download the donation receipts from canadahelps.org.
- Elder Board Resolution in Jan: i) It is resolved the following Membership Transfer applications be approved: Teresa Kwok, Jonathan Shing, Sharon Shing Liang and Stephanie Mau.
- AFC Teens Conference 2024 “Are You Ready to be Transformed?” Junior Conference (Gr.7-9) will be on Mar 11 & 12, Senior Conference (Gr. 10-12+) on Mar 13 & 14 at Richmond Hill Christian Community Church. For details please go to the site.
- In view of the fact that we are currently at the peak of the flu season, if brothers and sisters feel unwell or have cold symptoms, please wear a mask and avoid participating in the church group activities or gatherings. We can protect the elderly, children and people in poor health in the church by staying home until symptoms are gone. Please remember each other in your prayers.
- 2025 Elders Nomination Committee for 2 representatives from members. Nomination period: Jan 14 – Feb 25 (Sun).Qualification for Nomination Committee Members: 1) Must remain as voting member for at least two years immediately prior to the election. 2) Must have continuously served in a church position for at least two years. For nominating a Nomination Committee Member: 1) The nominator must be a member for at least two (2) years and be a voting member in the previous General Meeting. 2) The nomination must be seconded by another voting member, and submit in writing with 2 signatures of qualified church members, or in email with 2 email addresses of qualified church members to our Senior Pastor Rev. Brian Wong (brian.wong@ccac.church), who is the Chairman of the Nomination Committee. Note: this is different from qualification of Elder nominees.
- Our church will be hosting the Mission Course “Kairos” every Saturday from Feb 17th to Apr 6th, 2024 from 2-5pm. The registration fee is $125. Subsidies up to 50% is available to members of CCAC. To register, please go to the following website.
- Our church is currently hiring contract Cantonese assistant Pastor and English assistant Pastor. Please check the church website for details.
- To protect the environment, you can bring your own tableware and dishes for lunch to reduce waste. You are welcome to make a free-will lunch donation, $8 per adult, $4 per child under the age of 12, (lunch donation is not included in the tax receipts).
- Beginning with the General Meeting in March 2024, Member voting eligibility will be determined according to the requirements of the current church by-law’s “voting members”. Please be sure to sign in when you attend Sunday Service in order to fulfill the eligibility to vote in the future.
- Offering through E-transfer is now available. From your bank’s website, you can donate via Interac e-Transfer within the transfer / payment menu option. No security question or password is required. Use the email account. In the “Message” section, please include your name, address, phone number, amount, and the offering accounts you would like to support. You can give to multiple funds in one transaction. (All undesignated donations will be allocated to the General Fund).
- Rev. Darren Tsang is currently taking days off until Feb 21.
