Bulletin for March 3, 2024
- English Online Prayer Meeting will be on every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ZOOM1 (pw: 4757). Information is on the church website. All are welcome to join.
- Daylight Saving Time: Please move your clock 1 hour forward before bedtime for next Sat, March 9th.
- Awana Clubs will take March 10 & 17 off.
- The English Congregation will be joining several sister Alliance churches to have a joint Good Friday Worship Service on March 29th at 4-5:30 p.m. at Scarborough Chinese Alliance Church. There is a Seder Meal Demonstration by Pastor Stephen Hawkins. This is also a great time to fellowship with other brothers and sisters from other churches.
- English Adult Summer Retreat 2024 is happening on May 17-19, 2024 at Redeemer University! It is on a first come first serve basis (only 40 spots available). Sign up at here! Cost: $260/person or $130 for students. Pay by cash or cheque (payable to “Cornerstone Chinese Alliance Church”) to Ariel or Chris C. Registration deadline is April 28, 2024. - Annual General Meeting will take place on April 7th right after Chinese Service in the sanctuary. All church members please reserve your time to attend.
- The Family Ministry Department will hold a “Fun, Friends, Fellowship” camp at the University of Redeemer from May 31st to June 2nd (Friday to Sunday). Everyone is welcome to participate. The registration period is from March 10th to March 24th. The camp fee (including 6 meals for a three-day, two-night stay) is $300 per adult, $220 for children under 10 years old, and free for children under 3 years old without occupying a bed. There are 150 spots available, and registration will be closed once full.
- We are recruiting volunteers for Children Summer Day Camp. Online registration can be found at here.
- Our church is currently hiring contract Cantonese assistant Pastor and English assistant Pastor. Please check the church website for details.
- To protect the environment, you can bring your own tableware and dishes for lunch to reduce waste. You are welcome to make a free-will lunch donation, $8 per adult, $4 per child under the age of 12, (lunch donation is not included in the tax receipts).
- Beginning with the General Meeting in March 2024, Member voting eligibility will be determined according to the requirements of the current church by-law’s “voting members”. Please be sure to sign in when you attend Sunday Service in order to fulfill the eligibility to vote in the future.
- Offering through E-transfer is now available. From your bank’s website, you can donate via Interac e-Transfer within the transfer / payment menu option. No security question or password is required. Use the email account. In the “Message” section, please include your name, address, phone number, amount, and the offering accounts you would like to support. You can give to multiple funds in one transaction. (All undesignated donations will be allocated to the General Fund).
- Pastor Anthony Yuen will take vacation leave from Mar 4-18.
- Rev. Joe Chan will take days off from Mar 11-17.
- Administrative Assistant Karen Fung will take vacation leave from March 15-Apr 10.
