Prayer Requests: Day 10

Day 10.

Missions Education.

We have highly recommended and encouraged team members to take Kairos. Kairos is a ten lesson interactive study of the unchanging purpose and plan of God from Genesis to the end of the age. Focusing on the biblical, historical, strategic, and cultural dimensions of God’s mission, this course creates space where one can realign with God’s purposes. This course was designed for lay people.

The reason why we have chosen to make this course highly recommended is because we feel missions education is important. Missions is not simply about doing, but it’s about becoming. That is, becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and FOLLOWING HIM. Every member of this team from CCAC has either taken the Kairos course previously or is currently taking this course before heading to Taiwan! We want to be prepared to learn, grow, and align ourselves with God’s mission to follow Him wherever He leads us.

Therefore, we are very fortunate to run this course at Cornerstone. We meet every Tuesday evening since May 7 plus one full Saturday on June 22. This course is rich in worship, prayer, discussion groups, lecture, activity, refreshments and snacks! Yes, refreshments and snacks are very important to both rest and fellowship with one another! There’s interesting readings and homework to be done every single week in this course! We have these sheets with questions to answer. Though we don’t call them “homework sheets”, but rather “fun sheets”! In a way, it is kind of fun to learn together about God’s mission. At the conclusion of this course, every student who has completed the requirements will receive a certificate. What’s encouraging to see is that we have several in the Kairos course that are young and passionate for God’s work, and a few who are not going on a missions trip but have decided to take this course. It tells me that they want to take it simply because they want to grow. Pray that God would prepare His people to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Pray that our team can be thoroughly equipped with proper knowledge to do His work.

Today, I want to introduce another member of our team, Isaac Kong. Isaac is the son of Ivan and Betty Kong (introduced Day 5). Isaac is in grade 11. He recently got baptized on June 2, 2019. It’s amazing how I have seen this young man grow both in size and faith! Size in terms of how tall he is now compared to a few years ago. Faith because of how God had spoke to Him after going to MCM (Mexico Caravan Ministries missions trip), especially through one of the speakers. For whatever reason, that testimony at MCM spoke to Isaac and it became real for him. A spark was ignited which led to baptism and this trip. Praise God! Please take a moment to read Isaac’s prayer requests.

Isaac’s Prayer Requests

  • To keep growing in my faith in God
  • To continually do my devotions so I can discover God more in my daily life
  • For good health and safety for the team as we are in Taiwan
