Prayer Requests: Day 12

Day 12.

Shirt Designs.

The STM fund-raising team have been selling t-shirts for the last several weeks in addition to food and chocolate flowers (Mother’s Day). The t-shirt logos have a special meaning. First, for the heart logo design, all the words in the picture describe God, Taiwan, and includes ALL the names of the 2019 Taiwan STM members. The words form a big heart, which is intended to say that we have the people of Taiwan and STM members in our hearts. It also is printed in gold ink to signify that our treasures are not laid on earth, but in heaven. Our investment is in people (Matthew 6:19-20).

Second, for the much simpler fish logo design, the fish simply means fishers of men. Just as it says in Matthew 4:19 where Jesus says, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” The small fish logo is printed on the left side chest (where most people’s hearts are located).

We can print the shirts on black, white, and navy blue, all on gold print. They are 100% cotton and pre-shrunk and are available in the sizes of Children S/M/L and Adult S/M/L/XL. They cost $20 per individual shirt, $35 for two, and $60 for a family of four. This Sunday (June 16) is the last week we are selling the shirts. We want to fill the orders and print the shirts before June 30 (which is just before the Taiwan STM team flies out). All proceeds are for CCAC Taiwan Missions Funding which includes all short-term missions’ trips. Pray that God would supply the needs of all short-term missions’ trips that CCAC organizes. Pray that our church would have the lost people of the world and God’s mission in our hearts.

Today, I would like to introduce another member of our team, Rev. Joe Chan (me!). I am the spiritual leader of the Taiwan STM team. I’m married to Betty (Day 4) and have a ten-year-old son, Jared (Day 11). I love to go fishing, read books, and travel. My mother is currently not doing well. She has reached an age where her memory loss is significant. She cannot remember even how to write her own name! Fortunately, she lives with my younger sister and she can somewhat care for her. But I am still a bit worried about her because my sister is also not 100% well. This is mainly the reason why I put them as one of my prayer requests. I covet your prayers while I am out of the country. Please take a moment to read my other prayer requests.

Rev. Joe’s Prayer Requests

  • Health – Pray that I can be sufficiently healthy enough to go to Taiwan.
  • Mother & Sister – Pray that my mother would be taken care of while I am away. Pray that my sister would be able to support her.
  • Right Heart – Pray that I would have the right heart to serve and give rather than be served and take.
