Prayer Requests: Day 7
Day 7.
Spiritual Protection. In Baozhong, there are 15 registered temples (14 Taoist and 1 Buddhist). There are an additional 15 unregistered temples. There are many more shrines and house temples that are not included in this count. There is a giant temple that looks like a theme park and sells refreshments, snacks, and souvenirs to their guests!
Rev. Albert has befriended and spoken to a Taoist monk nearby. To give an example of the darkness in this area, this monk believes that he can astral project out of his body and travel all over Taiwan at night! This monk questions what can Jesus do that he can’t already? There is an unseen spiritual war that is going on in this township and Taiwan. Pray for spiritual protection for the team while in Taiwan.
There are three church groups in town. The Roman Catholic Church has been here for many years. It has recently been refurbished and services have begun again. The other two groups are churches. The Baozhong Alliance Church and the Village Gospel Mission Gospel Center. Two evangelical churches in Baozhong!
Today, I want to introduce another member, Derek Ng. He is our team leader for this STM trip. He is married to Olivia and has one adult son, Alvin. As you can see, he loves riding his bicycle. In fact, he participated in the Love in Motion event in 2014, where he rode his bicycle from Toronto to Montreal in a week! That’s over 600 km! While he loves sports, his true passion is seeing people find Jesus Christ. Please take a moment to read his prayer requests.
Derek’s Prayer Requests
- Pray that God would grant us a heart of unity on this STM team
- Pray that God would protect each member and their family, against the attacks of Satan
- Pray that we can experience God, and understand His will
- Pray that God would use us to be a good witness
- May we have joy, thanksgiving, and a heart to serve the Lord and people!
