Youth Ministry: February/March News

Youth Ministry: February/March News

A bit behind in sending this out this month so I’m just going to make it a double feature to cover the events of March as well. Thank you for all of you who have been praying for Jackie and myself. Jackie’s recovering well from her surgery and getting better by the day. Please continue to pray for a speedy and smooth recovery for her in the weeks ahead. Thank you!

For all of you who are in high school, I hope your new term has been off to a good start. Transitions and changes are often challenging but persevere through it! But when things get tough (but also even in the good times), know that God is present and near you. He is our comfort and our hope in all times of distress and everything that comes from him is for our ultimate good — even when it doesn’t seem like it at the moment. Trust in God!

On another note, don’t forget that it’s Family Day this weekend. So do go out there (or stay in) and do something with your family! The point is that you’re doing something with your family, no matter what it is. So clear your schedule and set apart some intentional time to spend with those that you live with everyday.

For everything else, here’s what’s coming in the weeks ahead.

YOUTH EVENTS

AFC’s Teens Conference – March 16-19 @ RHCCC
A great conference for encountering God, making new friends, and having fun. This is the annual conference by Ambassador’s for Christ for all youth. The Junior Conference (Grades 7-9) will be held from March 16-17 and the Senior Conference (Grades 9-12) will be held from March 18-19. I know many from our church have gone to this and have enjoyed it and many are going this year as well. To register, or for more information, go to their website at afccanada.org/tc.

Baptism
For anyone interested in baptism or just learning more about Christianity, we’ll be starting a new term of our baptism class soon. Note that taking this class doesn’t mean that you have to get baptized. This is, first and foremost, an opportunity to learn! Come talk to me if you’re interested or want to know more!

Cross Conference – December 30, 2020 – January 2, 2021 @ Louisville, Kentucky
For those in Grade 12 and will be turning 18 by the end of this year, our church is planning a trip to this amazing conference this year to hear from renowned speakers such as David Platt and John Piper about missions. We’re still in the early stages of planning this trip but those who are interested should sign up to our mailing list at cross.ccac.church. For more information on the event itself, please go to crossforthenations.org.

CHURCH EVENTS

Praise & Prayer Night – Saturday, February 22, 8:00 pm @ CCAC
All are welcome to join for this evening of praise and prayer. Join us for this night of worship and intercession for one another, our church, and the world.

Coronavirus Precautions
In order to minimize the spread of the germs, we’d kindly ask all our members and guests to take good caution and care. Thank you for your cooperation! Should you have any questions or concerns, please email the church office at office@ccac.church.

  1. If you have any signs of illness (fever, cough, cold, etc.), please stay at home and rest.
  2. If you are coughing and/or sneezing, please wear a mask.
  3. If you’ve travelled to Wuhan or mainland China, please rest at home for 14 days before returning to join church functions.
  4. If you’ve come in close contact with anyone who has travelled to infected areas in the past 14 days, please rest for 14 days as well.
  5. Sanitize your hands before and after you touch anything shared (i.e. door knobs, basketballs, tables, etc.) and especially before meals. Wash your hands with soap if they are visibly soiled.
  6. When we greet each other, please smile and wave instead of shaking hands.

Blessings,

Pastor Darren
