Youth Ministry: February News

Hi Everyone,

February is an exciting month. For students, it marks the half-way point of the school year. For families, there’s a great opportunity to spend time together with kids and relatives with Chinese New Year and Family Day. For parents, there’s Valentine’s Day to look forward to–a great day to spend with your spouse! On that note, I really want to encourage all you parents to do something for your spouse this Valentine’s and to actually go out on a date! This is vital to the health of your marriage and it sets an example for your kids as to how they’re to one day love their future spouse. So, leave the kids at the church (see note below) and go out and enjoy an evening out!

Valentine’s Child Care – Friday, February 9, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Parents: we care about your marriage! So take this opportunity to go out on a hot date! Therefore, aside from regular youth fellowship where we get your youth out of the house, our Family Ministry will also be running a special child care service on Friday the 9th so that you can be freed from younger children too. Dinner will be provided for your kids, so don’t worry! Register for this special one-night child care service on the bulletin board outside the nursery or email Pastor Anthony at anthony.yuen@ccac.church.

Baptism Applications – Now Open
For any youth interested in getting baptized in June, applications are now open. Please get a form from the reception table or ask me, and submit your application as soon as possible.

Youth Unlimited’s Today’s Teens Conference – February 24, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm @ The Meeting House
Not to be confused with the Teens Conference below, this is a great conference for both youth and youth workers. I went last year and learned a lot from it and so I’m encouraging high school youth to consider attending this year as well. For anyone interested, please let me know by January 31 so I can order tickets. We will try to arrange rides for anyone interested.

AFC’s Teens Conference – March 12 – 15, 2018 @ RHCCC
Held annually at RHCCC, for any youth interested in attending, please register at afccanada.org/tc. The junior conference (for grades 7-9) runs from March 12-13 and the senior conference (for grades 10-12) runs from March 14-15. The theme this year is “This Hope”.
