Youth Ministry: January News

Happy New Year! Oh the season of making New Year resolutions! In Sunday school this past week, we were presented with the question of “What breaks your heart?” as the guiding question for making our resolutions for the year. The aim, of course, was to examine the greater call that God gives to every Christian with respect to how we’re to uniquely live our lives for his glory. So what breaks your heart for God? What’s he convicting you of in your heart as we start off the New Year?

As a young man, Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) was burdened to make 70 personal resolutions over the span of two years as he was developing into adulthood. He then re-read these resolutions at least once a week to himself in order to keep his mind focused and renewed. He started form this list when he was only 18 years old. But back to the world of Youth Ministry now, here’s what’s happening in the month ahead!

YOUTH NEWS

Toronto Remix – June 26 – 30, @ Seneca College Newnham Campus
We went two years ago and had a great experience. Toronto Remix is a week-long interactive and hands-on urban mission experience designed to equip, train, and inspire young leaders to centre their lives within the mission and message of Jesus. Baptism Applications
We just witnessed a baptism a few weeks ago. Were any of you stirred to be baptized yourself? If so, the application for the June baptism are now open. Come talk to me for more information!

Taiwan Short Term Missions – July 4 – 17, 2019 @ Baozhong, Taiwan
This year, our church will be sending a short-term missions team to Baozhong, Taiwan. As with any STM, the goal is to discern God’s calling on your life with respect to the work of the Great Commission. The team going to Taiwan will be doing this primarily through teaching English to youth. Applications are now open and you get access them here.
