Youth Ministry: June News

It’s June, the time where students anticipate the summer break yet dread the final exams and projects. In these times, God’s so important in our lives! Don’t be fooled into thinking that there isn’t a spiritual component to the things going around you and that your busyness permits you to take a break from “spiritual matters”.

Youth, I encourage you to spend time with God daily still, join in corporate worship, and participate in regular fellowship nonetheless; in all things, be disciplined!

Parents, I encourage you to exemplify the greater importance of salvation and sanctification in these trying times for your teens; it’s so easy to be taken by the temporal stresses of school in these times. Yes, school is important and this is a busy season, but there will always be seasons of busyness in our lives and we need to be disciplined nonetheless.

So with all that in mind, here’s what’s happening in the weeks ahead!

Joint Baptism Service – June 3, 10:30 am @ CCAC
We have eight brothers and sisters getting baptized this time around, praise the Lord! From the youth, we’re extending our blessings and congratulations to Charity, Chelsea, Eunice, and Jessica. Come and hear their stories and witness their baptism!

Mexico STM Fundraising
From August 19 – 26, twelve of us will be going to Tijuana, Mexico in partnership with Mexico Caravan Ministries to build homes for those in need. If you’re interested in supporting us, go to our website at mexico.ccac.church and see how you can partner with us there. Currently, we’ve just begun selling some fundraising merch, order your goods here by June 17 [updated!].

Providence Softball
The season starts this Sunday, June 3. Whether you’re on the team or not, come cheer us on! Our first game will be at 2:00 pm this Sunday at Warden Park. For full schedule details, check out our bulletin board at the church.
