Youth Ministry: May News

Hi Everyone,

This month we’re making the big transition for our grade 12 students. Just this past Friday we had a graduation celebration for them and starting next week, they’ll be moving over to join the Adult Small Groups Ministry. More details below.

Over the May long weekend, we’ll also be having our church’s family camp. Here’s hoping for nice weather! On the Sunday of that weekend, please note that there will only be one joint service at the church at 11:15 am. There will be no English service, Sunday School, or lunch.

Parents, we’re hosting a new thing of a Parents’ Forum on May 11, check out the details below and we hope that you can join us!

Aside from that, here’s what’s happening in the fellowships.

INFO FOR GRADE 12 TRANSITIONS

Summer Small Group Kick-Off – May 6, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm @ CCAC, Room 5
As mentioned above, we’ll be kicking-off our summer group on May 6. This small group will run weekly on Mondays from 7:30 pm (location TBD) from May to August. Any grade 12 students (or out-of-town students) who can’t attend on Mondays will be welcomed to join the Friday group instead which runs from 7:30 pm at the church. All grade 12 students should attend!

Transition 101 – June 2, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm @ Wycliffe College, Toronto
This is the transition event for all grade 12 students and their parents. This full day conference is hosted by all the major Christian fellowship found at Ontario universities. Everyone from Power to Change, Inter-Varsity, Ambassadors for Christ, and Navigators will be there. This event introduces transitioning grade 12’s to the various fellowships at their prospective schools and it allows for them to meet the current leaders in those fellowships as well as other Christians who will be heading to those schools. For parents, this conference is especially helpful for those who are sending their first kid to post-secondary. A separate conference track is available for parents where they talk about various parenting issues and concerns related to sending off your kids. Go to https://www.transition101.ca for more information. To register, please contact me.

Sunday School Transitions
Grade 12 youth have the option for the summer months of continuing to remain in the Youth Sunday School or they can choose to start joining the Adult Sunday School (currently they’re doing an overview of the Old Testament). Otherwise, we will formally transition all grade 12 students to the adult ministry in September.
