Youth Ministry: September News

Yup, for those living the academic life, September is the New Year. So, Happy New Year. New Year, new you. And this is going to be a different one. We’re still online and in the midst of a pandemic but by the grace of God, we’re still being sustained to press on. Nonetheless, I know that many are still anxious and worried about the start of this year. There are questions of how online classes will work, uncertainties around the quality of the education, concerns over post-secondary applications, and above all — fear of getting sick. Along with many of you, I share in your anxieties over these things.

But allow me one word of encouragement: God is still in control. in times as these, we’re graciously reminded of the watchful eye and providential hand of our sovereign Maker. No, he has not left us. No, he will not leave us. 

“Therefore I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing? Consider the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they? Can any of you add one moment to his life span by worrying? And why do you worry about clothes? Observe how the wildflowers of the field grow: They don’t labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these.”

Matthew 6:25–29

This is a text that I find myself often turning to in times as these. I pray that it would be an encouragment to you as well to know that God cares deeply for you still and that we can trust him to take care of all our needs — big and small. May he increase our faith!
 

New Year Launch-Off

Our new year for both 412 and Themelios starts on Friday, September 4. At this time, we’ll still be continuing our ministries online over Zoom and you can find all those links on our website here. So with that, we welcome all the new Grade 7’s to join 412 and all the new Grade 9’s to join Themelios.

For the new Grade 7’s, be sure to join our English Service stream as well every Sunday at 9:30 am! Details here. 

Most of our schedule is still to be planned but you’ll be able to find the most up-to-date info on the site. Hope to see you all on September 4!

Again, I recognize the challenges of the time that we’re in. So if there’s anything that you’re struggling with in the transitions ahead or just want someone to talk to about something or anything, just give me a shout! Would be happy to chat, to pray for you, and to support you!
